Whether you work at a private institution that relies on benefactors to keep afloat or you’re a big public school who knows how great a solid reputation is for you, why not let your contented students and parents speak for themselves?
Prospective students expect a school’s principal or president to speak highly of your school, but getting earnest anecdotes from kids their age and their delighted parents will give them a whole new perspective and get the wheels turning much faster than a Yelp review could. Not to mention, students in the classroom are often putting on a show when there are visitors nearby (sad but true). But if one of your students confidently and enthusiastically submits a smartphone video of his positive experiences at your school, chances are higher that a potential pupil could see themselves in his place.
But don’t let your ideal campaign candidates stop at current attendees! If you’re a High School or College, extend your campaign to alumni, asking them to share their fondest memories during their time at school. Not only will their stories add credibility to your establishment, but seeing both new and familiar faces will help put current students at ease (as they’ll know they’ve chosen the right school) and inspire future ones to apply. Show your audience that school pride lasts long beyond graduation day!
